About Me
I'm a special education teacher and a lifelong community volunteer. As a father and active resident of Thurston County, I care deeply about the people and places that make this area home. I have always stepped up when needed, not for recognition or personal gain, but because I believe in serving others and building strong communities.
Over the years, I have led local campaigns, served on nonprofit boards, and worked alongside neighbors to make a difference. I bring a practical, hands-on approach to everything I do, grounded in real life experience and a deep commitment to public service. I am not connected to special interests or driven by politics. I am here because I care and because I believe we all deserve a voice in the future of our community.
As a teacher, I have built strong partnerships, managed complex projects from start to finish, and guided diverse groups toward shared goals. I understand how to listen to different perspectives, find common ground, and turn plans into action. These skills are essential for serving effectively as a Port Commissioner. I will use the same dedication, problem-solving ability, and commitment to opportunity that I bring to my classroom to strengthen our community, support smart economic growth, and ensure the Port serves the best interests of everyone in Thurston County.
Business Experience
I spent over a decade managing teams and running a small business. That experience taught me how to lead, solve problems, and stay focused on long-term goals while handling day-to-day challenges. I understand budgets, deadlines, and the importance of accountability.
I hold a Master of Business Administration with a focus on large-scale project management, along with dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Business and Education and a minor in Government. I bring an analytical mindset to everything I do, and yes, I’m the kind of person who actually enjoys reading 300-page reports on environmental studies and development plans. I believe good decisions come from doing the work and understanding the full picture.
Community is everything. You’ll find us at school events, local festivals, volunteer drives, and community gatherings throughout the county. I believe in showing up, lending a hand, and being an active part of the community.
I look forward to meeting you and discussing your needs. I am running to make the port work for of all of us.
